our story
Tendercraft’s journey began 34 years ago on the Swedish island of Fåglarö. Our founder, Jakob Westring, grew up exploring the archipelago in a small aluminum Buster boat, popular in Scandinavia. These early experiences sparked a lifelong passion for the sea, ultimately leading him to the University of Chalmers, where he earned a Master Mariner degree. Jakob’s career took him from the merchant navy to the world of superyachts, where he gained extensive experience in operating and maintaining superyachts and their tenders around the globe.
As he worked onboard, Jakob began to notice a pattern: while tenders often matched the aesthetic of superyachts, they frequently lacked the durability and design needed for the heavy use and challenging conditions demanded in real-world operations. This insight planted the seed for Tendercraft. A company dedicated to supplying tenders built specifically for superyachts, combining Jakob’s Nordic boating heritage with the luxury and customization expected in the superyacht industry.
At Tendercraft we work with selected partners and boatyards to bring this vision to life, customizing boats and building bespoke tenders to meet the unique needs of each yacht. With a foundation built on deep-rooted expertise and a true understanding of superyacht operations, we are dedicated to delivering purpose-built tenders that perfectly combine durability with refined design.

As a commercially licensed captain with a B.Sc. in Nautical Science, I bring over a decade of hands-on experience onboard prestigious yachts and ships, fueled by a lifelong passion for boating. I've sailed in Northern Norway, Antarctica and most places in between. Along the way, I've managed complex ship operations and refits.
Being Swedish, I'm deeply connected to the outdoors, whether it's skiing, cycling or staying active in other ways. Above all, my family is at the heart of everything I do.

With a background in HR and sales, I’ve taken on a supportive role in this family business, looking after the administrative side. For me boating is about spending a sunny day on the water with family, here cruising a Scandinavian classic Fjord "Fjordling" 17.
